Theme: Rethinking Value Creation for Sustainability

The conference is organised and hosted by the Tampere University (Finland) in association with the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of Leeds (UK) and Kedge Business School (France).
The conference theme ‘Rethinking Value Creation for Sustainability’ invites us to challenge our understandings of value and value creation. The focus of the conference is on the ways business and other organisations provide solutions to the current sustainability challenges. In private and public organisations and other institutions, value is created in novel ways that may not yet be fully apprehended or conceptualised by research. Thus, the focus of the conference is on those activities and practices that precede the current theoretical conceptualisations of value creation for sustainability in and around organisations. We seek contributions address the idea of rethinking value creation for sustainability from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
As in previous years, we will run our PhD workshop on the first day of the conference. The main conference will start on September 12, 2019.
Luontopohjaiset ratkaisut: Kirjoittajakutsu Alue ja Ympäristö -lehden teemanumeroon 2/2019
Luontopohjaisten ratkaisujen (engl. nature-based solutions, NBS) käsite on saanut viimeaikaisessa keskustelussa jalansijaa yhtenä vastauksena kestävyyden ongelmiin. Teemanumeron tavoitteena on hahmottaa luontopohjaisten ratkaisujen käsitteellistä kehittymistä ja vaikutuksia.
Teemanumero ilmestyy vuoden 2019 lopussa. Vertaisarvioitavat artikkelikäsikirjoitukset (5000–7000 sanaa) ja vertaisarvioitavat katsaukset (korkeintaan 2500 sanaa) tulee lähettää lehdelle 31.5.2019 mennessä.

B2N tutkimusryhmä oli mukana järjestämässä Luontopohjaiset ratkaisut kaupungeissa- seminaaria 5.6.2018 Tampereella.
Kaupunkien viheralueiden parissa työskentelee monia tutkimus- ja kehittämishankkeita, joilla on samoja teemoja: luonnon ja yhteiskunnan rajapinta ja sen parissa toimiminen sekä uusien ratkaisujen löytäminen. Seminaarissa esitellään hankkeiden ajankohtaisimpia tuloksia ja uusimpia ideoita sekä keskustellaan luontopohjaisten ratkaisujen soveltamisesta käytännön työssä.

B2N tutkimusryhmä järjestää suomenkielisen työryhmän "Kestävä kehitys kaupungeissa: Hallinnon, yritysten ja asukkaiden yhteistoiminta kaupunkiympäristöjen tuottamisessa" Hallinnon ja kuntatutkimuksen tiedepäivillä Tampereella. Työryhmäpaperin esittäjäksi haluavat lähettävät enintään 300 sanan abstraktin tiedepäivien ilmoittautumisjärjestelmän kautta viimeistään 8.10.
